ASU’s dedication to future technological advancement is embodied in the research and development of innovative and creative computer display screens and nano-electronics.
For example:
- Named one of the top 10 technological advancements of 2008 by WIRED Magazine, ASU’s Flexible Display Center (FDC) leads the nation as the only U.S. Army-funded center of its kind in the U.S. Researchers there collaborate with industry partners to create state-of-the-art machining techniques that make it easier to produce plastic for displays without distortion.
- The Arizona Institute for Nano-Electronics (AINE) is a coordinated network of research centers focused on ASU research in nanoelectronics. It seeks to strongly impact future technology areas related to ultra-low power/ultra-high speed electronics, and hybrid biomolecular electronics at the interface between the biological and electronics worlds.
