We support scholars from all fields to promote transdiciplinary research. We promote innovation and entrepreneurship through diverse programs and activities.

Top 18 Species Named After Famous People

Quentin Wheeler, an entomologist and director of the International Institute for Species Exploration at ASU, named six of the top 18 on the Popular Mechanics' list of "Top 18 Species Named After Famous People" with Kelly Miller at the University of New Mexico and Paolo Mazzoldi of Brescia, Italy.

ASU researchers nominated for World Technology Award

Scientists Qiang Hu (pictured) and Milton Sommerfeld in the College of Technology and Innovation have been selected as nominees for the award for their work with algal feedstocks and biodiesel fuel. Recently, TIME magazine selected the researchers’ work as one of the top 10 best innovations for 2008.

Professor strives for 'greener' power plants

Research to help make the next generation of power plants more environmentally sustainable will be led by Arizona State University chemical engineering professor Jerry Lin. His project to capture carbon dioxide to produce hydrogen for energy generation will be supported by a recent grant from the U.S. Department of Energy.

ASU Art Museum becomes catalyst for sustainablity dialog

The fall 2009 season, titled Defining Sustainability, is a series of dynamic and interactive projects that will come together at the ASU Art Museum and Ceramics Research Center to illustrate ideas about sustainability. Carrie Marill's artwork (pictured) will be displayed as part of the exhibition Nowhere to Hide.

ASU researcher among authors of climate change report

ASU professor Nancy Grimm is one of the authors of a new and authoritative federal study assessing the current and anticipated domestic impacts of climate change. The report, "Global Climate Change Impacts in the United States," was released June 16 by the U.S. Office of Science and Technology Policy.
